Lyman Slough Stewardship

Details: This property is dominated by sloughs and shorelines of the Skagit River near the town of Lyman. This conservation area consists of numerous forested wetland areas hosting a rich variety of wildlife including salmon, amphibians, songbirds and bats. While you are there, check out the bat houses constructed by 5th grade students at nearby Lyman Elementary School. We will be manually controlling invasive plants scattered in the publicly accessible area between the Cascade Trail and Lyman Slough.This work requires kneeling, pulling, bending and potentially navigating slopes. There are a variety of tasks available and we can meet your interests and comfort level. To bring: Your favorite leather work gloves, sturdy boots and dress for the weather. Directions: Just over seven miles east of Sedro-Woolley on Highway 20, turn right on Lyman-Hamilton Road. Drive 1.5 miles, to Lyman City Park.
