First Thursday Art Walk in Downtown Mount Vernon
The Mount Vernon Downtown Association (MVDA) is excited to present the First Thursday Art Walk on June 1, 2017, 5-8 pm. Poster artist Rakan Alduaij will be joined by photographic artists John Sedgwick and Arturo Torres in an invitational exhibit at the Front Gallery, 420 Myrtle. Local and regionally renowned artists will be exhibiting at 16 downtown locations during the First Thursday Art Walk. Artists include Ken Speer, April Harrop, Margo Macdonald, Ariel Lepore, Felix Kaparchuk, Margaret Horak, Linde Husk, Jody Bergsma, Gene Jaress, Denise Jackson, Karen Neugebauer, Steve Hunter, Ruthie Powers and Sherry Shipley. Perry and Carlson Gallery located at 508 S. 1st, will present “Tears of the World” featuring Susan Singleton, Hannah Alex-Glasser and Kandis Susol. The MVDA hosts Art Walks on the First Thursday of each month, from April through September. Art Walk maps may be downloaded at mountvernondowntown.org.
